So obviously I'm not too good at updating this thing. We have been pretty busy lately. Two weekends ago we took the kids to Austin for Sat. night and had Sophie's first hotel stay. Everything went well, and both kids were perfect on the way there and back. It did take us 6 hours to do the trip each time though. We were not in any hurry so we stopped several times on the way there and back, to eat, feed Sophie, etc. Surprisingly enough, it did not seem like a long road trip. Probably because I slept a lot of the time too!
Last weekend we stayed here and did a whole lot of nothing. Saturday night the Isbell's and Clark's came over and we ordered pizza and watched football on tv. Jack was trying to teach Gracie how to crawl and Hudson was trying to figure out Gracies walker. Hudson is a big little boy and he has the funniest high pitched voice sometimes so Jack kept going, "what's that noise?" It was funny thinking about how different our Sat. nights were together not that long ago! Jackson had his last Soccer Tots for the season and we met the Pokluda and Berger family in the park on Sunday. We had intended to take all the kids to Truck Time, but Sarah and Todd drove by and said there were way too many lines, plus it looked a little boyish for sweet Presley!
Other happenings are Jackson has mastered saying Sophie, not Sotee, which makes me a little sad. Is that bad for being sad that my childs diction has improved? He really likes her and gives her kisses all of the time. He likes to swing her in the swing, but I have to remind him that we are not at the park and we do not swing babies high.
We also might have a upset child this Christmas. Jack discovered the Target toy catalog a couple of weeks ago and has been fascinated with it. He would study the thing forever it seemed like and then say, "I need this", "My like this one". I have been telling him when we are at stores or when we see commercials on tv and he says he wants a new toy that he has to wait that Santa Clause is going to bring him a couple of new toys if he is a good boy. Well, apparently he thinks Santa is bringing him everything becuase now when we are leaving a store and he has to put the object back he will tell me, "Santa get that one." We just hope Santa picks and chooses the right toys to bring to him! We are starting to worry that Santa might not choose the correct "coys" as Jack calls them and he might be upset!
Sophie has started smiling some and it looks like she is going to have a dimple as well. So far all of the grandkids on my side have dimples. She is still waking up during the night, but last night she went 6 hours, which is pretty good. That girl loves to cuddle and would prefer to sleep on anyones chest. She just cozies right up there and could stay for hours.
As you can see we have just been super busy trying to stay afloat. Things are a little harder and take more planning with two, but it's not as daunting as I originally thought. Jack is good about going and standing on the sidewalk or nearby so I can see him as I put Sophie in the car and pretty good about controlling his tantrums. Minus the one huge one at the mall when we were with Presley and Monica!
We are looking forward to Thanksgiving in Wichita Falls and Sophie getting to meet her aunt Ayesha, Me-Me, Gran-Gran and aunt Doodle for the first time! It should be fun, but we will miss my sister and her family this year. It looks like I might have to step up to the plate and help in the kitchen since she is not there........at least I won't have to worry about gaining wait if that is the case:)
